Overview

The EMA Fight Back Special Needs / Challengers Program is designed for individuals with developmental, physical, emotional, behavioural, or learning challenges. This program uses gentle, simple, step-by-step teaching, ensuring that every participant — regardless of ability — can learn essential People Safety skills with confidence.

Our approach is person-centred, inclusive, and fully adapted to each participant’s physical and emotional needs.

4. Emotional Safety & Regulation

  • Calming skills
  • Handling overwhelm or meltdown moments
  • Breathing and grounding techniques
  • Managing fear and confusion

5. Safe Physical Responses (Emergency Only)

Gentle, ability-based movements:

  • Simple step-away techniques
  • Wrist releases
  • Soft blocking
  • Protective stances
  • Safe movement for escape

6. Online & Digital Safety Basics

Optional, for older children & teens

  • Protecting privacy
  • Handling online strangers
  • Dealing with bullying online

All techniques are non-aggressive, slow, and suitable for limited mobility.

This program is suitable for children, teens, and adults with:
